As most of you will know by now, Phil Popplewell passed away on Friday 26th July 24. Thanks for all the really warm and loving messages. It’s not sunk in really.
Tomorrow, on Sunday 11th August at 6pm, there will be a specially recorded tribute show on All FM – the real voice of Manchester on Ed Warne’s Ed’s Space programme featuring a bit of remembering and tunes from Phil’s musical career.

If anyone out there was in a band or played with Phil, please get in touch so I can put some more details to his musical career and properly list the bands he has so much influence on. Hi Mike When you get round to updating your website, the link for the show (rather than the generic ed’s space link) is https://www.mixcloud.com/stats/EdsSpace/eds-space-phil-pops-tribute-with-mike-shaw-11th-august-2024-for-all-fm/ although one person, at least, has found it via the link you used!I guess, if you upload it, anyway, they won’t need to come to Mixcloud, anyway. Do you get any sort of stats on visitors, plays, etc? CheersEd
